Inès : " What could be the advantages of online learning towards the traditional way of learning ? "
Tim : " I think it's pretty interesting fot people who just can't follow the traditional way of learning because they don't fit with the scolar system.
Besides, to me it's a bit impersonal and isolating."
Inès : " That's true but meanwhile, it enables to be connected with everybody who gets an internet connection."
Tim : " Yes but most of the time, you only work with your screen, which is a pity. Moreover, you often face a lot of technical problems".
Inès : " Let's be more concrete. Describe me all the new ways for doing online learning ?"
Tim : " You've got the video, the audio, the live interaction with a real teacher, online websites where you can find all books talking about English grammar, vocabulary, and so on. "
Laure : " The best way to learn English to me is to try to understand the global mean of the subject discussed with the help of both audio and video. Even if we don't understand each word, just understand the general meaning of a discussion makes you learn a lot more. "
Tim : " I do agree with you Laure, but I think the best way to learn English on the Internet remains exactly what we are doing now namely to me, it is to work with a better student and learn how to make correct sentences is a great motivation because it's a pleasure to know that I can really do it. No more stress, I can improve my English."
Laure : " I was thinking about something else. Another way to improve my English, is that when I am watching movies or tv shows, I put the English subtitles. This way I can understand very quickly. I mean that sometimes the accent is to difficult to understand and thanks to the subtitles I can read what the actors are exactly saying. Besides, considering that there is a precise context, I can understand a word because I guess what it means. It's very important to mix both the audio and video aspects."
Inès : " That's so true. I mean that most of the time teachers teach you how to write English but the completely forgot to teach you to be fluent on oral. I personnaly verified that due to this method I am really better in writing English than in speaking it. That's too bad ".
Everybody : " Let's see a movie with English subtitles ! "
