It’s

Everyone who is aware of the new technologies evolution knows about
"podcasting". Technologically speaking, the podcasting is a free way of
broadcasting audio or video files on the Internet. These files are
Podcasts.

To sum up the story of podcasting phenomenon, Adam Curry officially
developped it and launched it using the syndication content program RSS
2.0, so that every suscriber recieves music compilation such as he
suscribes a news feed.
Once it's downloaded, the podcast is plugged in
a digital player or a computer and the user can listen to it whenever
he wants.

In UK and USA, this technology has known a massive developement even
though it remains quite undevelopped in France. In traditionnal media, Arte-radio.com
is the first channel who created a podcasting service. TF1 recently
created a collaboration with Apple to launch a video podcast for Star
Academy

In computer terminology, a honeypot is a trap set to detect or deflect attempts at unauthorized use of information systems. Generally it consists of a computer, data or a network site that appears to be part of a network but which is actually isolated and protected, and which seems to contain information that would be of value to attackers.

Normally it is a server that is configured to detect an intruder by mirroring a real production system. It appears as an ordinary server doing work, but all the data and transactions are phony. Located either in or outside the firewall, the honeypot is used to learn about an intruder's techniques as well as determine vulnerabilities in the real system.Honeypots are highly sophisticated technologies used to observe and learn about hackers. Practical and commercial interest in these new forms of hacker defense is now hitting the mainstream.

There are many successful commercial honeypots, including ManTrap and Specter. Security expert Marcus Ranum notes in his Foreword, "Right now there are about a half-dozen commercial honeypot products on the market. Within a year, I predict there will be dozens. Within two years, there will be a hundred." Spitzner also covers legal issues, one of the most controversial subjects concerning honeypots, receiving extensive guidance from the Department of Justice in writing the legal material. The book, Know Your Enemy was written by a team of authors, and focuses on a special type of honeypot via a research project called The Honeynet Project. This new book is written by the acknowledged honeypot expert and discusses many different types of honeypot technologies. They are perfect companion books. Get a strong foundation with "Honeypots" and explore more details of honeypot deployment with Know Your Enemy.

That’s the hidden meaning of web personalized strategy. It’s obvious that successful strategy lays on a rationalized and industrialized one-to-one market. Offering the product which answers the real needs of the consumer by using the data you collected about him. Then, he will think that “you’re the one for him”: right product, right time, right place. If your target feels privileged, listened and spoiled, your image and notoriety will increase.

There are many examples on the Web such as NikeID, a website created in order to develop this strategy of "mass-unification". The web user is able to customize trainers and order those he has just designed. The passive consumer turns to be the own designer of its trainers. It also gives the feeling that he is going throw an exciting experience thanks to Nike. Moreover, using the flash technology conveys dynamic and innovative characteristics to the NIKE brand.

Inès and Barbara are debating about the one-to-one strategy developed on the Net.

And when man is in an unknown (though hostile) environment, he gets spontaneously near to the people he has more things in common with. That's probably the first reason why Internet creates communities of values, and why every company tries to do that anyway.

Surfing on the Web is the best way to understand this phenomenon. Indeed, websites mixing all sorts of informations are becoming more and more rare, and on the contrary the mood is nowadays to the creation of websites gathering people around one or few values, such as MySpace. Before being a meeting people website, MySpace was a community website known only by musicians.

But, further than that, it's becoming obvious that companies' digital communication strategy is more and more pointed towards the creation of social interfaces of sharing processes. For example, both TF1 and M6 have created their sharing video's space on the Internet : TF1 with wat.tv and M6 with wideo.fr. This kind of website gather people around the values of the TV channel, while Meetic gather people around the value of open-minded, and the will to meet new people. And it works...

Thus, undoubtedly, Internet leads to the creation of communities gathered around similar values.
Yet, to a far extend, wouldn't this behaviour lead to a division of the mass, and an imprisonment of people around what they are familiar with instead of widening their view of others?

LET'S TALK ABOUT THE QUESTION WITH LAURE AND PAULINE

<EMBED name=audio_player_midsize_black pluginspage=http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer align=middle src=http://odeo.com/flash/audio_player_midsize_black.swf width=150 height=60 type=application/x-shockwave-flash flashvars="audio_id...
